Door-to-Balloon Times (DTBT)
Successful heart programs around the country provide rapid treatment to heart attack patients, minimizing the time from arrival in the emergency room to time of definitive treatment with angioplasty to open the occluded coronary artery. The Carl H. & Edyth Lindner Heart Failure Treatment Center Patients suffering from congestive heart failure now have an opportunity for comprehensive evaluation and treatment that extends even beyond the confines of the hospital. Novel aspects of the Center include:

a dedicated nurse practitioner to implement quality-assured clinical care; a dedicated congestive heart
failure nurse-educator to teach patients, families and staff; and a Heart Link nurse to provide patient
follow-up after hospital discharge, thus assuring that each patient receives the appropriate medications
and follow-up care from his or her personal cardiologist and/or primary care physician.

Education and Research
One of the hallmarks of every top cardiovascular program in the United States is a focus on medical education and research. The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Center, in collaboration with The Carl and Edyth Lindner Center for Research and Education, provides accredited educational programs for physicians, nurses and allied medical personnel. In addition, The Christ Hospital has affiliations with The Ohio State University to train cardiovascular fellows, and with the University of Cincinnati to train cardiovascular fellows in advanced cardiovascular imaging. Our physicians have performed more than 900 clinical research protocols, which have culminated in more than 600 peer-reviewed medical publications.
